In 2002, the CR-Vs first major facelift took place. The vehicle was completely remodelled while retaining the first generation’s crowd-pleasing features. The third generation Honda CR-V is powered by a 4-cylinder engine. Another welcome addition is the 5-speed automatic transmission that offers smooth gear changing. Reviewers have noted that the suspension geometry and component positioning have been altered to enhance driving in unfavourable conditions such as rainy weather and slick roads. The side to side distance between wheels has been expanded and the wheels are slightly larger, thereby allowing for increased tread to grip the road. Body lean is reduced owing to changes in steering angles, allowing for improved cornering.
