Exhilarating performance The All-New Civic Type R is the sixth iteration of this exciting model, which was first introduced in Japan in 1997. Since then, the Type R has become the epitome of performance excellence and the 2023 model recently set a new track record for front-wheel drive production-cars at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan, home to the Formula 1 Honda Japanese Grand Prix. This was no fluke though. Honda engineers meticulously conducted extensive development in Japan, and undertook rigorous testing at racetracks in Japan, North America and Europe to further improve Civic Type R’s chassis.
