Honda Sensing
Honda Sensing is a suite of safety technologies that can be added to several Honda vehicles. It’s currently available on the 2017 and 2018 Honda Accord, Civic, Clarity Hybrid, CR-V, Fit, Odyssey, Pilot, and Ridgeline models.
The Honda Sensing Suite offers drivers plenty of unbelievable features such as lane departure warning, which alerts you when you begin to drift from your lane. If you do not react to the lane departure warning, the Honda Sensing system will then use the lane keeping assistance. This system automatically adjusts your steering wheel if you begin to drift too far into another lane without using your indicators.
Another safety technology that you get with the Honda Sensing system is road departure mitigation. Similar to lane departure, this system alerts you or corrects your steering if you begin to drift out of the lane and onto the road’s shoulder.
The system also includes adaptive cruise control to help you stay focused while you drive long distances, collision mitigating braking, and forward collision warning, which help you avoid a potential collision.
LaneWatch
There are a few other systems that can be upgrade once you have installed the Honda Sensing Suite. One of those systems is LaneWatch. With this system, every time you indicate, a camera on that wing mirror is activated whereby live video is displayed on the centre console’s display screen.
This system allows you to see almost four times more than if you simply looked into the mirror, and helps you change lanes with confidence. LaneWatch is currently available on 2017 Honda Fit, Civic, Accord, Clarity, HR-V, Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline models.
Blind Spot Information System
The Blind Spot Information System is another fantastic way to help you see what’s in your blind spot. If you opt not to have LaneWatch, this system is a great alternative. When you put your turn signal on, the vehicle will use a sensor to detect if there is another vehicle or object in your blind spot. If it detects something in the way, it will make a loud beeping sound so that you can avoid any possible collision. This system is currently available on 2017 Odyssey, Ridgeline, Pilot, and CR-V models.
Cross Traffic Monitor
The Cross Traffic Monitor system includes a multi-angle camera that is mounted on the rear of the vehicle. Whenever you put the vehicle in reverse, the camera turns on and streams video on your centre console touchscreen.
In addition to showing you what is behind you from several different angles, the Cross Traffic Monitor system also alerts you if it senses an object in your path. If you begin to get too close to something as you are backing up, the system will alert you with a loud beeping sound. This system is currently available on the 2017 Ridgeline, CR-V, and Pilot vehicles.
