Most vehicles currently are fitted with Isofix. What is Isofix you ask, well let us explain? Isofix stands for International Standards Organisation Fix, it is the method of fitting the car seats into your vehicle with ease. It is a way to secure a car seat without using the cars seat belts or a locking clip.
To see if your vehicle has Isofix you would have to look for tags that say Isofix or a tag with a picture of a baby in a car seat. It might be a tag, fabric, or logo on a plastic pin on the seat. When you are attaching your car seat you need to look for 2 (two) D shaped rings in between the seat. Those rings are a part of the vehicle’s chassis.
ISOFix ensures minimal risk when correctly installed compared to the car seat belt, it provides a permanent connection between your car and car seat with quick and easy installation and removal. To make no compromise on the safety issues of a child, Honda has come up with its cutting-edge safety technology where compatibility with ISOFIX has become one of the basic features of some models of Honda.
Most of our models are fitted with ISOFix such as the Amaze, Civic, Ballade, CR-V, HR-V, WR-V, Jazz, Accord, FR-V, CR-Z and Insight.
There are different types of ISOFix car seats. The Universal Isofix has 3 anchor points. Two standard latches on the chassis plus the top tether anchorage behind the headrest of the passenger seat. The sedan models (Ballade, Amaze, Accord, etc) have universal anchor points. The Semi-Universal car seats use the standard seat anchors, and a third anchor is usually a support leg. The support leg works just as well as the top tether anchor.
Honda is a family orientated company and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to minimize the risk of injury in the event of an accident. Making sure your family is safe and sound in such instances is very important and we understand that. The other thing you immediately appreciate is just how incredibly rigid the ISOFIX seat system feels by comparison, with virtually no lateral movement compared to the older seatbelt-fitted design.
